Mission Trips are a great way to connect with the people and work in Burgos. Groups return year after year because of the life-changing experiences and relationships they develop during their trip. Visits to Burgos can be planned for any time period and custom programmed to fit the needs and purposes of those coming. From youth groups who have helped build churches to families who have come to meet their sponsored child, the experiences are priceless. Groups are housed in one of three area hotels depending on the number of persons. Facilities are nice, offering air conditioning, restrooms, and comfortable beds. Meals are provided by members of the church and are a highlight of the trip. A future goal is to have dormitories and rooms at Cristo Es La Roca for visiting mission teams. Work and service projects are planned with your group leaders to ensure a memorable trip and meet the team’s goals. Most trips include some construction work on churches, homes, or mission facilities, as well as children’s activities in the various communities of the Burgos Region. The area offers some recreational activities as well such as hiking and swimming. Trips can also be planned with other emphasis such as meeting a sponsored child. Scouting trips are sometimes helpful for church or group leaders to investigate possibilities for partnership with Burgos Missions or future mission trips. Some families enjoy attending a Regional Outreach, such as Fiesta Navidena which is held just prior to Christmas. The experience is a good activity to counter the commercialism of the season in the States. The Burgos Missions Team strives to accomplish much in a short time in all trips. Visitors become acquainted with the area’s communities and way of life, are introduced to and able to interact with families and children, and are given opportunities to be a blessing as they are being blessed by their visit.
