Family Ministry programs are expanding the area of influence of Burgos Missions in local communities. Programs and activities are meeting needs and relationships are being developed outside of the church environment therefore increasing opportunities for ministry and service. Program Examples: Food and clothing distribution provides periodic help for families. Donated food and clothing are given at various events or personally delivered to homes. English classes are provided free of charge to interested persons. Classes are facilitated at various levels allowing students to enter and progress at their own level of understanding. There are consistent requests to open more classes in more locations. Movie Nights are a big hit with children and adults alike. Not only does this provide a fun “night out”, but it also opens doors to begin and develop relationships. Emergency transportation is lacking in the Burgos Region. Mission Team members are frequently called upon to transport people to the nearest hospital (1.5 hours away in San Fernando) or to a local clinic. It is possible for State- side partners to donate vehicles to help with this need and with other transportation issues. family ministry photos |
