Cristo Es La Roca began as an impossible task but is becoming reality one
block at a time.  The church hosts Sunday morning services, youth and special
programs, regional outreaches, and is a main focus for mission trip projects.

In 2001, Maria Tellez felt led by God to begin a new project in Burgos.  In 18
years of ministry in the region, she’d helped to build several churches, but this
project would be beyond her dreams.  The stories of God’s provision and
providence could fill the pages of a book.

The 8000 sq. foot church has been financed primarily by donations from
churches and individuals from Texas and is the largest building of its kind for
miles.  Still under construction, it has been built “pura pala” (nothing but shovel)
as they say in Burgos.  Without the use of heavy machinery and without a
consistent supply of finances, the building is a testimony of the patience and
perseverance of the people and of the faithfulness of God.
