I.  Persons entering Mexico fill out paperwork in the office of immigration for a 7
day visa (no cost) or a 180 day visa (about $25).  The visa needs to be turned
in on exiting the country or on or before the 7th or 180th day.  To get the visa
the person needs to bring:
      Option 1 - Passport
Option 2 - Birth Certificate(with raised seal, no copies), and
                       State Issued picture ID

Minors who are not accompanied by both parents need a notarized letter
giving permission to the parent or guardian (church leader) to bring the minor
into Mexico.  Make sure that the names of all parties involved are included on
the permission.

II.  Persons bringing vehicles into Mexico get a temporary import vehicle
certificate and sticker from the Bank office (usually located close to the
immigration offices) good for the same dates as their visa.  The cost is about is
about $40 dollars and must be charged to a Visa or Mastercard.  The card must
be in the same name as the person obtaining the permission to drive the vehicle
into Mexico.  On exiting Mexico this sticker and paperwork must be turned in to
the Bank office at the border.  Do not remove the sticker yourself.  It will need to
be removed by a bank official.  In addition to the information needed in section

You will need:

1. An original title for the vehicle
(if it belongs to another entity, ie. Church or Bank, you will also need written,
notarized permission to be driving it into Mexico on official letterhead.  The
paper should name the person/driver and include the dates.)

You may not bring another person's vehicle into Mexico.  Only a Church
may give permission to a driver, or a Bank permission to the person who has the
loan on the vehicle.

2. Visa or Mastercard with the name of the driver of the vehicle, who is either
                    a. the vehicle owner, or
                    b. the named driver on the notarized permission from the church

a church credit card will not be accepted unless it also has the driver's name on it

3. Current Registration (original from tax office)

4. Current driver’s license

At the Bank offices, you will be asked not only for originals, but also for a copy of
these documents.   You may want to bring copies with you to save time and
money.
